A legal clinic (not to be confused with medical institutions) is a structural division of the University in which law students under professors’ guidance gain practical training – to provide Pro Bono assistance.

Due to war in Eastern Ukraine there have appeared certain categories of citizens who need expeditious legal aid. IDPs from Crimea, Donbas and Luhansk region, soldiers and members of their families faced problems that can hardly be solved independently. Therefore, Community Law Centers provide free legal aid to these people for more than a year, in particular, the Center at Volyn regional public organization “Center of Legal Aid”.
Soldiers of the military units stationed in the city of Bila Tserkva received important information on the rights of servicemen, participants of ATO and their families. Volunteers of Bila Tserkva Community Law Center delivered the respective leaflets and flyers to their sites.
Volunteers’ hard work is not always visible to the public. It is important to thank people who are ready to sacrifice their free time and efforts in order to work for society. For example, volunteers from Roma communities in Odessa and Uzhgorod help others by providing free legal consultations.
172 volunteers from Kherson, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhya, Odesa, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Lviv regions and Kyiv adopted a resolution. They demand legislation improvement and creation of mechanism of realization of adopted laws, which regulate the activities of charity organizations and volunteers in Ukraine.
In our situation, it is important to coordinate our efforts. For example, the creation of a mobile structure composed of State officials, law-enforcement representatives and volunteering groups, could enhance support to IDPs and ATO participants. Such structures are required in all border regions.
Volunteers and lawyers of the Community Law Center of Bila Tserkva of city public organization «Pravova Yednist” conducted an educational meeting with visitors of Bila Tserkva city library #8 – students of 9th grade of school #12 on 10 December. 35 boys and girls came to the meeting. Lawyers did not only read a lecture but also asked many questions.
