Registration of residence for newborn child

Since February 2014, parents do not need to go to the departments of migration service to register newborn children. The registration is completed by social service institution where social aid is provided.

The simplification of the procedure of registration of children place of residence is provided by the order of MIA of Ukraine #43 issued on 21.01.2014. According to the order, social service institutions give data on the place of residence provided by the legal representative of newborn child in the application for social aid to the departments of migration service.

Before, the registration of place of residence of a child was necessary for parents to turn to the social service institutions, that is why now it will save parents’ time.

If migration service finds out that the place of residence of one of the parents or legal guardian is not registered or if the registration is declined, social service institution will be informed on that fact.

How is registration of the place of residence of newborn children done:

Social service institution sends information and documents to the territorial department of State migration service in up to three days.
