Defenders who participated in hostilities in Eastern Ukraine are offered a free visit to the festival of the tent campus. Soldiers will be able to enjoy 60 hours of Ukrainian alternative music performances. The organizers of the festival reported this.
The shaky situation happened at the bus station in Kyiv on Saturday, July 8, 2017. A driver of the Kiev-Kherson Intercity bus did not want to carry ATO participants with the privileged tickets and even began to swear: he called the soldiers "freebie lovers" and showed an obscene gesture. The ATO participant from Kyiv Serhii Pogulay posted this story on his Facebook page.
Today the housing issue is quite acute for many ATO participants. Soldiers often turn to the lawyers of Legal Development Network offices with a request to clarify whether they can afford housing, how to improve their living conditions, where to go and what they need to do.
100 ATO participants were at the forefront over 4 months, but received payment for the third line of defense. They could not solve the problem independently, so applied for free legal aid to Chernihiv office of the Legal Development Network. Since they could not leave the frontline, they consulted lawyers of the Office by phone.
The Council for persons with disabilities discussed the problematic issues of medical, psychological and vocational rehabilitation of ATO participants, according to the Ministry of Social Policy. Deputy Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine Natalia Fedorovych spoke in detail about some of areas of rehabilitation of soldiers that are being implemented in Ukraine, and reform in this area.
The memo is developed by the NGO “Legal Hundred” together with specialists of the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine, the State Service for issues of war veterans and participants of anti-terrorist operation and the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine and General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the aim of providing soldiers with basic information about their benefits, rights and social guarantees, as well as providing recommendations on how to proceed in certain situations.
On January 25, 2017 in Bila Tserkva a training for employees of local centers providing free secondary legal aid and Legal Aid Bureau office in Kyiv region on the theme: "Providing legal aid to ATO participants and their families: current issues, problems and ways of their solution" was held.
