Repeated mobilization will not entail reduction of average earnings

Until recently servicemen mobilized repeatedly lost money due to the imperfect law. People received compensations at a rate of their average wages that were lower than during the first call-up. At the end of July this shortcoming was eliminated at the state level. The following consultation will provide more details about the above changes.

On July 29, 2015 the Cabinet of Ukraine adopted the Resolution No. 542 according to that servicemen mobilized for the second time could be paid smaller average wages than they had received during the first call-up.

It is known that the mobilized workers have their employments kept and average earnings compensated at enterprises, institutions, organizations where they worked while being called up (Art. 119 of the Code of Labor Laws of Ukraine).

Average earnings are calculated proceeding from payments for the last 2 calendar months of work that preceded the military service. Such order of calculation of average income caused complaints of demobilized servicemen who after return to their employments and by the time of the repeated mobilization received smaller wages than before the first call-up.

The changes brought by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ukraine No. 542 supplement the order of calculation of average income and specify that no reduction of average wage is implied in case of repeated mobilization.

The Resolution will come into force after being published in the Official Bulletin of Ukraine or the Uriadovy Kurier newspaper.
