Legal awareness would allow internally displaced persons of Chuhuiv district to independently solve their life situations. They will be trained by lawyers of Chuhuiv human rights group.
On April 22 there was held a training for internally displaced persons, during which they discussed the latest changes in the legislation concerning IDPs, as well as the details of the mechanism for obtaining aid.
A lot of people came and this is not surprising, as now there are big problems with payments for IDPs and everyone wanted to know how to get out of the situation that arose through no their fault. This refers to the most serious problem at the moment – conflict of laws when the State Migration Service follows already the new changes to the Law of Ukraine "On ensuring rights and freedoms of internally displaced persons”, and the Department of labor and social protection of the population adheres to the standards set out in the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 509.

Many attendees were also interested in so-called "lists of SBU". What about those who at the time of the arrival of the inspector was at work, the store, or just walking. The answer would seem obvious: to come to the inspector that he or she was convinced that the IDP did not disappear and kept on living within the Kharkiv region. But it is not so simple. Therefore, during the training, each case was considered separately, the problems are solved immediately on the spot. There were a lot of questions the trainer tried to give maximum number of answers to, but it is clear that you can't foresee everything.
The IDPs were satisfied with the event, when one could discuss various issues in a casual setting. They expressed their gratitude to Chuhuiv human rights group and the Mission of Friedrich Ebert Foundation in Ukraine.
It is also worth noting that this training has launched a series of expert activities "Overcoming legal ignorance of internally displaced persons".
