Protecting rights, obtaining assistance from the local budget, employment tips – this and many other issues were discussed during the seminar for people who became new residents of Bila Tserkva. Young people – IDPs who are settling down in the city – attended the seminar, even with the children.
On February 27 lawyers of Law Community Center at the NGO "Legal Unity" held public training for internally displaced persons from Donetsk, Luhansk and Crimea. During the meeting the head of the Center Olga Nastina told about rights protection mechanisms, how to better communicate with officials, what to choose – filing a lawsuit or resolve the conflict in a different way.
Participants compared the effectiveness of trial and public pressure, costly litigation and well-designed information requests, complaints, applications and other written requests. The lawyer of the Center Inna Malyshko spoke about the protection of the right to work, how and where to find a job in Kyiv to avoid employers' traps.
The expert of the organization on local self-government Inna Kovalchuk told about the work of all departments and offices of Bila Tserkva City Council, dealing with the problems of displaced persons, how to receive financial assistance from the local budget.
Presentation materials were prepared, a booklet with samples of citizens ' appeals and information requests was developed for training.
