Roma from the village of Korsuntsi, Odesa region, are threatened by cutting off water. The Vodokanal (the water supplier) motivated this decision by a statement that people do not want to install water meters at their own expense. The lawyers of Roma human rights centerpointed out the illegality of such threats and solved the situation in the legal field.
On February 8, 2017 the action plan for the implementation of the Roma strategy in the Odesa region in 2017 was discussed and adopted. One of the important results is creation of the Roma cultural center.
The lawyer, head of the Roma Human Rights Center Volodymyr Kondur told about the first victory in the criminal case on antiRoma pogroms in the village of Loshchynivka, Odesa region, on 18 January 2016. The court reversed the decision of the investigator of Prosecutor's office on non-recognition of the Roma as victims.

Children from Roma families forcibly evicted at the end of September 2016 from the village of Loshchynivka in Odesa region not only left without a roof over thier heads, but have to meet the cold season without warm clothes. Public activists urged to help the affected families.
On September 8 the Coalition of Roma NGOs submitted an official letter to the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko. It comprises 2 following suggestions: to create an institution that will be responsible for the implementation of the Roma strategy 2020 and to consider the possibility of introducing a new post of Ombudsman for Roma minorities.
All Roma are exposed to forced eviction from Loshchynivka village (Izmail district of Odessa region). This demand of local residents was supported by Izmail District Council. Human rights defenders tell about human rights violations, incitement of the people and urge to act within the confines of the law.
To interact with the government, obtain versatile tools that will enable to reach different levels with specific proposals to improve the lives of Roma communities – those were issues presented to representatives of public organizations in the training organized by International Renaissance Foundation in late July in Kyiv.
