Roma from the village of Korsuntsi, Odesa region, are threatened by cutting off water. The Vodokanal (the water supplier) motivated this decision by a statement that people do not want to install water meters at their own expense. The lawyers of Roma human rights centerpointed out the illegality of such threats and solved the situation in the legal field.
The Odesa appellate court made the first-instance court start the case of the Roma victims of pogroms in Loshchynivka.
On February 8, 2017 the action plan for the implementation of the Roma strategy in the Odesa region in 2017 was discussed and adopted. One of the important results is creation of the Roma cultural center.
Children from Roma families forcibly evicted at the end of September 2016 from the village of Loshchynivka in Odesa region not only left without a roof over thier heads, but have to meet the cold season without warm clothes. Public activists urged to help the affected families.
In Odessa, at the suggestion of Odessa regional organization "Committee of Voters of Ukraine" there was made a decision "About introduction of a pilot model of training and involvement of paralegals into providing free legal aid and development of local communities". The proposal was adopted on 30 August, 2016 during the regular session of Odessa Regional Coordination and Methodological Council on Legal Education.
New Countdown 2.0 is a program, realized for the second year in a row in Odessa and the region. In fact, it is the business incubator that helps start new business or support an existing one. But only internally displaced persons, ATO ex-combatants and members of their families can join the program.
To motivate high school students on bona fide education in school and higher education, know their rights and be able to build relationships with people – those were the objectives of Odesa NGO "Roma Human Rights Centre "Social Legal Aid" that conduct lessons-lectures on career guidance and legal culture for high school students. The one took place in the last days of the school year in the gymnasium of the village of Nerubaiske of Odesa region.
On October 1, 2015 a round table for activists of Roma community and representatives of profile departments and Baltsky district state administrations was held in the city of Balta of Odesa region.
