The Ministry of Justice of Ukraine will hold a competition for the position of Director of the Coordinating center for legal aid providing. This was announced on April 24 by the Minister of Justice Pavlo Petrenko during a briefing at the Ukrainian crisis media center, said in the press center of the Coordinating center for legal aid providing.
At the event Pavlo Petrenko noted that nearly 8 million people in Ukraine ask for free legal aid. Therefore, the "Ukrainian Government defines this area as one of the priorities in the work of the Government and the Ministry of Justice".
"We will continue the development of the system of free legal aid", said Pavlo Petrenko.
According to the Minister of Justice, the Director of the Coordinating center Andrii Vyshnevskyi went to work in the Ministry of Justice as a Deputy Minister. A candidate for his position will be elected on a competitive basis.
"Despite the discrete powers of the Minister of Justice to appoint the head of the Coordinating center, I have decided to initiate the amendments to the regulations of the Centre and the relevant advisory competition to elect a new leader among the top candidates. I appeal to our friends and partners from among civil society representatives that they delegated their representatives to the Competition Committee. We plan after the May holidays to announce a competition for the vacant position of a Director of the Coordinating center for legal aid providing. I kindly ask you, lawyers, to join this contest. Our team is waiting for specialists who will continue to develop the system of free legal aid", said the Minister of Justice.
