Crimeans are denied the issuance of passports: how to act

More recently, in the legal reception office of Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union on Crimean affairs, there are more appeals related to problems in obtaining Ukrainian passports by the Crimeans. People complain that in the departments of the State Migration Service (hereinafter the SMS) in various regions of Ukraine, the Crimeans are unreasonably refused to issue passports - both domestic and foreign. Human rights activists of the UHHRU provide advice for those who were denied registration of a passport.

Passports for Roma: first certification at age of 36. Daughter and grandson next in line

Recently Legal Space published the story of the Roma family from Uzhgorod, three generations of women of which lived without papers. Lawyers of LCC at the Transcarpathian regional youth Roma Association "Romani Cherhen” decided to help them issue passports. Although this case was rather complicated and lasted about 5 months, the efforts of human rights activists were not in vain.

Within civil society advocacy campaign for elimination of legislative disagreements in issuing identity documents to members of Roma minority that started in October, 2015 employees of CF “Rozvytok” developed social advertizing to draw attention of citizens and especially authorities to problems of Roma who have no identity documents. Since December 9, 2015 advertizing is placed in three cities of Zakarpattya area: Mukachevo, Uzhgorod and Svalyava.
