Lawyers of Kovel Office of Legal Development Network help the pensioner pursue justice for the years of problems, which the woman suffered through the fault of two municipal agencies. The first victory is a moral compensation in the amount of 7 thousand UAH.
Valentyna Sushko* is a constant client of Kovel Office at the NGO "Center for community growth”. The pensioner repeatedly filed lawsuits for 2 institutions of the city, namely the Kovel Vodokanal and Kovel repair housing-utility enterprise-1.
The fact is that her apartment was partially and later fully cut off from water and wastewater. The pensioner lives in a privatized apartment on the 5th floor of the high-rise, therefore, she constantly refers to Kovel repair housing-utility enterprise-1with a request to carry out repairs on the roof of the house, because the apartment ceiling is leaking much.
Both companies consisted of the woman duty for failure to provide services. Kovel Vodokanal did not take into account the fact that Valentyna’s house was completely disconnected from water and wastewater. At the same time Kovel repair housing-utility enterprise-1with did not render any services prescribed in the contract.
In the fall of 2016, the legal counsel of the Office Natalia Dubrova prepared the claim for moral damages in the amount of 50 thousand UAH to Kovel Vodokanal. There were held more than 5 meetings, Kovel Vodokanal proposed settlement agreement, according to which it had to repaire and connect to the apartment the water supply and drainage. During the time of the hearing Kovel Vodokanal connected the water to the house of the pensioner, but the woman decided to claim financial compensation for 5 years of life without water.
Since the pensioner no longer trusted this institution, it was decided to obtain money from the defendant, and for these funds to carry out repairs in the apartment. In conclusion, the court decided to recover from Kovel companies in favor of the pensioner 7 thousand UAH of moral damage. In December 2016 Ms. Sushko came into the Office and announced that she had received the money.
