Officers pursued ambulance (part II)

In October last year the Legal Space web portal published the news of the egregious event about how the command of the military unit tried to kidnap a soldier (a resident of Kherson) from an ambulance, who was struck by electricity – "to hush up" the accident.

In December in Kherson region two significant events took place simultaneously: training of field officers and holding the XII Docudays UA Travelling Festival. It would be quite unwise not to arrange the screening of the best documentaries for future police officers.

Mobilized soldiers fight with employers through court

The law guarantees preservation of average amount of income for all the period of military service and establishes responsibility for those employers that violate it. Effectiveness of the law directly depends on determination of soldiers to assert their rights. The Legal Space team helps with it. The lawyer of Kherson Regional Charity and Health Foundation Volodymyr Orlovsky told the journalist of Deutsche Welle Galyna Stadnik about experience of protection of the rights of mobilized citizens.

Last Tuesday evening, on October 27, the management of military unit tried to kidnap a soldier from an ambulance, who got a shock – "to hush up" an accident.

Since the beginning of the year lawyers of five Community Law Centers have been providing free legal aid (further FLA) to soldiers in Kherson, Volyn, Chernihiv, Kharkiv and Kyiv oblasts. For this period they analyzed more than 2000 requests, carried out court case monitoring, identified system problems of military personnel and attracted attention to them of the authorities and society in the public statements.
