Lawyers of the Network and trainers of the Institute for Peace and Common Ground.
"The basic skills of dialogue facilitation" – this was the theme of the training for lawyers of the Legal Development Network, which was held on December 10-12, 2016 in Lviv.
Participants were trained by Roman Koval and Aliona Horova – certified facilitators, mediators and trainers with international experience from the Institute for Peace and Common Ground. According to the participants, these three days were held in the pleasant atmosphere of tension, because the trainers had planned the program so that every minute was as productive as possible. Themes of dialogue, consensus and communication as such appeared very informative. Case studies that illustrated the theoretical part in more depth were extremely interesting. This knowledge will help lawyers of the Network better work with the community, in the community and for communities around the world.
The curriculum is implemented by the Legal Development Network with the support of the Institute for Peace and Common Ground and supported by International Renaissance Foundation. The goal of the program is to support the Network members in the direction of strengthening the legal capacities of vulnerable populations and the introduction of mediation in communities. Mediation in the school environment will provide an opportunity to reduce aggression and teach children to resolve their conflicts on their own, the introduction of facilitation in communities will help find effective tools for solving problems in the community, and court mediation will make justice more accessible.
