The organizers of the OPEN DATA FORUM in Kherson introduced the public platform with a variety of open data. The event took place on 8-9 September in the premises of the City Council. The speakers provided state and volunteer projects, explained what data you can find online, and urged officials and IT specialists to join the open data.
For students it was good to hear Tetyana Kotko, who told about the possibilities of getting higher education abroad, the procedure of admission and training at U.S. universities.

Electronic historical archive presented by Pavlo Kushnir is a step forward for users of historical archives. This is an online resource aimed at improving the operation of archives, supplying society with electronic database with most requested information stored on it.
Ruslana Velichko-Trifoniuk advised not to control, but to make life more comfortable with open data. She also spoke about the service competition for cities based on Apps4Cities challenge open data.
Pavlo Kulik told about the conversion of state services into electronic form using the service iGov – about the benefits of providing such services, the speed, transparency of information.
Yuriy Antoshchuk and Andriy Zhnivin told how to make the movement and accumulation of the parent charitable contributions to educational institutions transparent. They presented the first in Ukraine online visualization system of the budgets of educational institutions and charitable contributions.
Serhiy Nikitenko started the second day of the OPEN DATA FORUM with the story about the official web portal of the state finance o Ukraine - Edata. It shows the transactions of the state institutions of Ukraine. A lot of successful analysts use the portal data. Even a new instrument of public control over the financial transparency of the public sector "Search-analytical system 007" was created. The project manager is Natalia Kravchenko.
Victor Nestulia told how to monitor every public procurement using the system ProZorro.
As you can see, there are many sectors where open data are extremely useful. Thanks to them new tools are emerging for monitoring, control and analysis of process of the use of the state finance.
