Activists of Bilotserkovsky NGO "Legal Unity" urged to join Domestic Violence 16 Days international campaign.
The action started from flashmob on Facebook - over 50 people published the photo with an inscription "I am against violence" on their pages.
On October 25, 2015 in Bila Tserkva Domestic Violence 16 Days campaign started with conversation with men. Members of the organization together with students - volunteers of faculty of law and linguistics of Bilotserkovsky National Agricultural University with the support of Bilotserkovsky city library No. 8 conducted an interactive lesson for students of Bilotserkovsky mechanical energetic technical school on the theme "Domestic violence: know and counteract". Children showed obvious interest to the issue, asked questions about gender equality, economic and psychological violence, after all most of participants had never heard about it.
Then they spoke about equal rights of men and women. Boys disagreed that undesirable sex in marriage is violence. But at the same time they noted that to marry a girl off without her consent is also violence, despite of traditions of the country.
To find out the attitudes of residents to a problem of domestic violence volunteers of the organization within 16 days will hold round tables, information meetings with youth, educational conversations and trainings for pupils of schools of Bila Tserkva, outdoor events and poll.
Let us remind that the international community annually carries out the Domestic Violence 16 Days campaign and over 100 countries of the world from November 25 to December 10 make active efforts for the sake of the uniting purpose - to draw public attention to urgent for any society problems of overcoming domestic violence and ensuring the equal rights of women and men.
